Update - Art On The Beach

The White Rock Events Society met with the city about the future of the White Rock Promenade Sculptures Competition for 2025.

The city has chosen not to financially support the program for success.
Without their financial and In-kind support along with sponsors, volunteers, and the community, it’s not possible to continue.

We spent 3 years organizing this event and personally financing a great portion of this pilot project. We were passionate and truly believed a Public Art addition to the promenade would complement all the other art events White Rock has to offer.

Our original design had all the sculptures on west beach only because there is more traffic and light, at least a possible deterrent to vandalism. We were told it could only happen on east beach where there is no light and where vandalism continues to occur. The sculptors nor the White Rock Events Society deserve such disrespect.

The sculptures and infrastructure will be removed after the long weekend in September, so please enjoy them while they are here and if you are interested in purchasing for personal or business use, please visit our website www.whiterockeventssociety.com.

We are so grateful to all our sponsors, sculptors, volunteers and the knowledge, support, and assistance from Castlegar Sculpturewalk and Penticton Public Art, with a big shout out to Pat Field. We also reached out to other communities with displays of art and while not all programs are the same as ours, we still learn from them. You can never have enough knowledge!

We feel White Rock can enjoy a unique, artistic event, at least for 1 year!
